Technology has grown so much
in decades. With the developing technology.Mobile phones have become an
indispensable part of human life. Although many new features have been added a
cell phone, people are used it mostly for texting messages and calling
purposes. Even if texting and phone calls aim to communicate people, they both
have their differences.
           To start with, texting messages
is the newest way of written communication. Today, more and more people use
texting rather than speaking on the phone because texting is cheaper. It
economically benefits people by having lower prices than calling. That is why
texting messages are more preferable to younger such as students. Using
texting, people can send messages that couldn’t verbally transfer. When a
face-to-face or phone conversation is not possible, texting messages allow people
to contact with others and they use some symbols to express their emotions. For
example, you are in a lesson and you can’t talk on your cell phone in class.
So, it is better to use texting to speak someone. Another example is that when
you have to inform someone about a credit card number or email address, it is
difficult to explain this information by calling because the other person can
misunderstand what they want to transfer. With a message, people can send
correct information to have a better communication and also this information
can be saved in the cell phone. Whenever people want, they can use it as long
as the messages are not deleted. All these reasons do it a better way of
communication.
      On the other hand, calling
is a way of verbal communication. Although the price of phone calls expensive,
it is more preferable to the elderly because they are not used to the
messaging.Texting message is generally used
for the urgent situations. It allows people fast communication. For example,
when people should ask something to the other person immediately, they call and
ask their wants. Another example is that when there is an accident or disaster
such as fire, people directly call the ambulance or fire brigade and also they
need to give direction of the place of event via a phone calling. In addition
to these, phone calls allow people to feel better and happier when they heard
the voice of their lovers. Not only are they speaking for hours, but also they
can share some emotions such as laughing, anger, joy etc… naturally. So calling
is more meaningful.
              In
conclusion, communication through texting messages and calling have both
advantages and disadvantages, and both of them are essential for humanity. So in
my opinion, it is better to use them depending on the situation.
